A curation of jewelry, accessories, and home and beauty products from small business owners, Assembly Creators is comprised of designers and creators assembled from all over the United States. Assembly Creators purchases 100% recycled paper products, uses homemade cleaning products to create a safer space for employees and customers, and uses LED lighting to save energy.

Backlot Coffee is an independent, community coffee shop located on Central Street where neighbors can gather. Backlot Coffee offers reusable and compostable products, displays local artwork, and has incorporated reclaimed wood into their space.

Bloom 3, a full-service premium florist and gift boutique, has served the Evanston and surrounding communities since 1999. Owned by sisters Brenda Jones and Linda Johnston and third partner Kim Lesher, Bloom 3 specializes in creating imaginative floral designs for every occasion and personalized events with a natural and foraged aesthetic.

The welcoming shop is filled with vintage treasures from around the world culled during the owners' travels, as well as ceramics, jewelry, candles and other objects created by Chicago area women artisans. Bloom 3 is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and is proud to be recognized as a Sustain Evanston business.

Brella Productions is a partner to companies in need of video, event, and interactive production services. They are also green to core with their solar panels, electric vehicle charging stations, and compost collection for employees.

From its inception, Bucephalus Bikes has been committed to sustainability. The owners, who have lived in Evanston car-free for 20 years, conceived of their shop as a means to promote the bicycle as a sustainable method of transportation. They support the individuals and the families who see bike riding as a way to greatly improve the quality of life in our community.

The shop’s commitment to sustainability is also reflected in its efforts to conserve resources and reduce waste. These efforts include reconditioning used bicycles and selling them at reasonable prices, creatively repurposing materials for their shop’s fixtures and furniture, and recycling and/or reusing all packing material and used bicycle parts.

Located in Evanston’s Main-Dempster Mile shopping district, Cultivate is a woman-owned, independent plant shop and art gallery. In addition to plants and gifts, Cultivate offers many services: repotting, adding drainage holes to pots, and houseplant 101 classes called “Plant Parenthood”.

Dream to product is an Evanston Contract Manufacturer that designs and makes products. As manufacturers who have incorporated sustainability into their business plan, they are always finding creative ways to reuse materials, repair broken products that would otherwise go to a landfill, and design innovative products.

A merchant processing company, Electronic Processing of North America (“EPNA”) offers the full array of payment-acceptance solutions and equipment to businesses and merchants of all sizes and from all industries. The only business in this industry to be a certified Women Business Enterprise, EPNA implemented changes to reduce their energy usage and the amount of waste they send to the landfill.

The Evanston Rebuilding Warehouse is a non-profit organization that promotes the reduction of waste in landfills through sustainable deconstruction and renovation building practices. Reclaimed materials are old at their warehouse at low cost to the community and the proceeds support their education, job-training and job-development programs which foster individual, community, and economic growth in Evanston and beyond.

Follow Your Nose is a local Evanston pet store created to help residents find quality services and products for their dogs and cats. They also offer a wide range of service like in-home care, dog training and grooming, and home delivery.

Grumman/Butkus Associates is an energy and resource consultant for large, energy-intensive facilities. They also walk the walk by making their own commitment to corporate sustainability with an annual Sustainability Report that outlines their initiatives around waste, transportation, and energy use.

A nonprofit bellydance and fitness studio, Hip Circle Empowerment Center aims to empower all women and girls to believe they are strong, beautiful, and worthy of attention. HCEC has completely eliminated disposables like single-use plastic bags, disposable cups, and paper towels and offers a senior discount to show their commitment to Age-Friendly initiatives.

A holistic health center and wellness boutique, In Fine Fettle is expertly trained in acupuncture, herbs, massage, and high quality supplements and wellness products. In Fine Fettle purchases 100% renewable energy, strives to reuse and recycle as much as possible, and is constantly working to promote energy efficiency in their own operations.

Founded in 1993, Kipnis Architecture + Planning has practiced the architectural design philosophy of 'High Design/Low Carbon™' long before it was in vogue. They are guided by the idea that architectural design excellence need not be sacrificed for principles of sustainability. Rather, we believe sustainable design expands the possibilities for innovative architectural forms, construction methods and the use of materials.

Kombucha Brava is a small, local family business that brews artisanal Kombucha with organic ingredients and ferments their product in oak barrels. Kombucha Brava is a zero waste business that is dedicated to creating connections and relationships within the Evanston community.

Maya Papaya & Tony Macarony is a clothing and gift store for children 0 to 12. They aim to lead the next generation by example, recycling all their packaging, and procuring supplies from sustainable sources. In Spring 2019, they partnered with District 65's Green Team to build a special window display educating the public about recycling.

A contemporary women's clothing and gift store, Notice is a small family business that has been on Central Street for almost 10 years. At Notice, all of their employees are Evanston residents and they work with local businesses like a local jewler, who they can return packaging to for reuse.

Walsh Natural Health is a unique store devoted to its customers’ health that sells supplements, natural body care, essential oils, and other health-related products.
